Hectic Holidays (cont.)

The day after Christmas, I went out to dinner with my parents, my grandma and my aunt and uncle for my mom's birthday. We went to this cool restaurant called the hyeholde. The history of the hyeholde is interesting. The place is an old stone castle nestled in the woods. The restaurant was built room by room, by the hands of the owners from 1931 to 1987. The original owners lived in the house and ran a restaurant from the house starting in 1938.

Dinner was wonderful. I had a venison appetizer and elk for dinner. I'd never had elk before, but I recommend it. It has a gamy smell, sort of like lamb has, but it tastes savory.

After dinner I went down to the southside to meet up with friends. There were about 15 old acquaintances. We stayed until close, 2 am. A few of us went to a friends house near my parents place. We smoked, drank and played ping-pong. It was a lot of fun. Although I suck at ping-pong. I didn't get home until 5:30 am, long night.

The next day I went to a party over in Highland Park. The neighborhood was on top of a hill above the Allegheny River. To get up to the neighborhood I had to climb this grade hill in my dad's car. I'm glad I had some horse power under the hood.

I left the party around midnight. On my way home I met up with my cousin and her husband for a few drinks at a local bar. We chatted up a storm. It was nice to talk to her husband outside of a family setting. My cousin told me this crazy story about how a guy through a boulder through her car window because he thought it was hers. I left there around 2:30 am. On my way home I saw 8 deer. 4 here, 2 there, another 1 and yet another. I made it home safely, thankfully.

I'm heading back to Atlanta today. I can't wait to get on the plane. I hope the guy sitting next to me at the bar is not on the plane. I think he's been traveling all day and needs to buy some deodorant. Man smell is okay, but only if it is me or my man.
