Today, I filled out the census form for 2010. It is a joke.
I think there were 9 questions total. None of the questions had any intimate level of detail.
Here's the gist of it:
number of people at address
asl
race
phone
do you sometimes stay elsewhere

This is probably how pen pal dating services work.
Here's a look at US census figures over the past 40 years:
Year Population Total Cost $/person
1970 203,302,031 $247,653,000 $1.22
1980 226,542,199 $1,078,488,000 $4.76
1990 248,718,301 $2,492,830,000 $10.02
2000 281,421,906 $4.5 Billion $15.99
2010 308,983,000 $14.5 Billion $46.93
I have no idea how it could cost so much!

I filled it out as well. yes I agree, but if you do not they can fine you; now that is a joke.

No, they can't fine you. You'll win in court as the US Constitution ONLY permits the asking of how many people live there. Period. They don't need to know your race or anything else. It's none their business.
Government always costs more... if it starts out a penny in 10 years it'll be a dollar if the government runs it.... a wise person once said if the US government was in charge of sand in the sahara there would be a shortage within 5 years and it would sell for $10 a pound
